Three Alpha Upsilon (The University of Alabama) chapter members display a 25-foot Christmas letter that they prepared for the patients and staff of the USS Sanctuary, a hospital ship off the coast of Vietnam. A tape of Christmas carols and Fraternity songs, sung by Alpha Upsilon (The University of Alabama), together with pictures of the women, accompanied the letter. This photograph was featured on the front cover of the Summer 1971 issue of The Lyre.

Marsha King Grady, National President 2008-12

Marsha King Grady (Alpha Upsilon, The University of Alabama) has served on three boards for Alpha Chi Omega since her first role as national vice president in 2000. She was elected National President and served from 2008-12. In October 2012, Marsha became a staff member at headquarters and now serves as the chief development officer.

Alpha Chi Omega was the first women's organization to create a convention transcript, debuting for the first time at the 1915 Biennial Convention. Published and available every day during convention, it took a number of volunteers to serve as reporters, and a specific team was in charge of editing, layout and printing every night.
